Belleville Lodge is a beautiful stone villa with a sympathetic modern extension, set within award-winning private walled gardens. The care home offers space for up to 25 residents, including some twin rooms. It is managed by Michelle Wade and her team.
COMMUNITY
Belleville Lodge is home to many people from a wide range of backgrounds, and has a calm, welcoming atmosphere. The home is an established part of the local community, with good links to the local churches and in-house church services twice a month. The neighbours enjoy coming round for the annual garden party, and residents also have regular visits from local school children for arts and crafts activities and concerts.
The location in the heart of Edinburgh makes it easy for residents to enjoy theatre shows and art gallery visits, as well as the Edinburgh arts festivals. Friends and family are welcome to join us for outings and afternoon tea, and we help residents to use Skype to keep in touch with family further afield.
ACTIVITIES
Activities are led by residents’ own wishes, with favourite outings including Dobbie’s garden centre, trips on the barge at Ratho, and the nearby Salisbury Arms bistro. We also have music and movement classes and a visiting hairdresser once a week, and poetry reading fortnightly.
In summer, the private gardens are popular for sitting out, afternoon teas and barbecues, and residents also enjoy playing outdoor games such as croquet.
