Belleville Lodge summer days out

The month of July at Belleville Lodge has been packed with events and activities. The highlight for many of us was travelling along the Union Canal on a barge in warm summer sunshine.

A group of us had a great time on a barge sailing down the Union Canal from Ratho. It was a beautiful sunny day and everyone enjoyed being out on deck, and watching the local wildlife on the water and the banks of the canal. 

US Independence Day 4th July celebration and barbecue

We all enjoyed a barbecue to celebrate American Independence Day with our friends from across the pond.

Russian Exhibition, Holyroodhouse

A group of us traveled to the Palace of Holyroodhouse to see a Russian-themed exhibition in the Queen’s Gallery. As a Russian reader, Mardie really enjoyed seeing the old textbooks in the exhibition. There was also a fabulous display of some of Faberge’s work.

After the exhibition, everyone enjoyed sitting in the palace courtyard to enjoy an afternoon tea.
