Annual Garden Party returns to Belleville Lodge

In pre-pandemic times, Mansfield Care’s Belleville Lodge care home in Edinburgh hosted an annual summer garden party with over 100 guests, including neighbours, friends, relatives and residents. August 2021 saw the return of the popular outdoor event, and took place in good weather.

Staff at Belleville Lodge really look forward to the day – it’s a chance to meet and chat to the residents’ relatives and friends in a relaxed setting. There’s always plenty to talk about after the event too.

Belleville Lodge Matron Margaret Russell said, “This was our first garden party since the beginning of the restrictions. We decided to have the party and to invite families to attend with their loved ones but in spaced intervals throughout the afternoon, so that we did not have lots of people in the garden at once. We played some lovely relaxing classical music throughout the day and everyone enjoyed a variety of mixed savouries and sweets with wine, coffee or tea. The chocolate strawberries were especially delicious! Everyone who attended said they had really enjoyed their afternoon and it was great to spend time with their relatives.”
