Hilton Lodge Celebrates Senior Community Champion Wilna Knox at East Lothian Awards

Posted on 09 June 2026

Hilton Lodge was delighted to sponsor the Senior Community Champion of the Year award at the 3rd annual East Lothian Courier Community Champion Awards, held at Royal Musselburgh Golf Club on Wednesday 3 June 2026.

The evening brought together finalists, winners, sponsors and community members from across East Lothian to celebrate the people who make such a positive difference in the lives of others. For Hilton Lodge, which opened in Haddington just over a year ago, the awards were a meaningful opportunity to support and celebrate the community it is proud to be part of.

The Senior Community Champion of the Year award was presented by Lucy Duffin, Chief Operating Officer at Mansfield Care Group, to this year’s winner, Wilna Knox.

Also representing Hilton Lodge on the night were Maria Pritchard, Home Manager; Elane Millar, Deputy Manager; Angela Thomson, Lifestyle Coordinator; and Beverley Graham, Regional Operations Manager.

Wilna was recognised for her decades of dedication, kindness and service to the Tranent community. Her contribution includes 15 years as a Brownie leader, long-standing involvement with St Martin’s Women’s Guild, and key roles within the Tranent Gala, where she served as Chair and Secretary between 2012 and 2024.

Her nomination highlighted the many ways she has supported local people and organisations over the years, from fundraising for community causes to helping preserve the much-loved Tranent Gala at a time when it was at risk of ending.

Everyone at Hilton Lodge and Mansfield Care Group would like to congratulate Wilna Knox, all of the finalists, and every winner recognised at this year’s East Lothian Courier Community Champion Awards.

Wilna’s story is a wonderful reminder of the impact one person can have when they give their time, energy and heart to the people around them.
