Pine Villa Care Home celebrates the Coronation of King Charles III

Residents and staff across Mansfield Care Homes had a lovely day celebrating the recent coronation of King Charles III.

At Pine Villa Care Home in Loanhead near Dalkeith residents and staff were all involved in preparations for the big day.

Everyone made their own hats, and residents enjoyed helping decorate the lounge and dining areas with flags.

After watching the Coronation on TV there was a buffet lunch of everything British including favourites, fish and chips in a poke as well as roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with sausage rolls. For dessert there was a specially decorated Coronation cake and chocolate-dipped strawberries. Everyone joined in a toast to the new king with a glass of bubbly to wish him a long life.

Pine Villa Care Home manager Margaret Russell said: “All of our residents remembered the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth so they were very excited to watch Charles being crowned.”
