Spring Sunshine at St John’s
Posted on 04 April 2021
Residents of St John’s Care Home in Melrose have had plenty of reasons to celebrate recently. Activities Coordinator Denise says, “Early Spring sunshine brought on the daffodils in the care home’s sheltered and spacious garden, and it’s been warm enough to enjoy time outdoors. Throughout the year the changing seasons in the garden and on the nearby Eildon Hills are a great source of interest and stimulation for everyone living and working at St John’s. Our garden volunteer, Finn, has also cleared our raspberry patch – so hopefully we will have raspberries in the future.”
Another ray of sunshine arrived with the 104th birthday celebrations for much-loved Mary, St John’s most elderly resident. Her special day was marked with a unique birthday cake and a visit from her niece, Sue.
Many thanks to Mansfield Care Homes staff and residents for the lovely photos.
