Summer Birthdays at Belleville Lodge

Birthdays are always a special event, and at Mansfield Care Homes, staff and residents come together to make every celebration memorable. At Belleville Lodge, forthcoming birthdays are included in the weekly activities programme so that everyone knows when a celebration is due.

Two of Belleville Lodge’s residents recently celebrated summer birthdays.

Bet enjoyed a garden visit from her family in the morning, while in the afternoon, fellow residents joined her for a birthday tea accompanied by a delicious home-made strawberry cake.
Bet said that she really enjoyed her day.

A few weeks’ later, fellow Belleville resident Claire celebrated her 97th birthday. Her family took her for a trip away in the morning before she returned to Belleville Lodge in the afternoon to blow out the candles on her birthday cake and share afternoon tea with her friends in the dining room.

Belleville Lodge Matron Margaret Russell said, “Birthdays are special and memorable for everyone, especially the residents, but for our care home staff, too. Our chef makes a lovely strawberry cake and it always goes down well!”

For every resident’s birthday, care home staff get together to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ and to present a gift and card on behalf of Mansfield Care Homes.
